The 'Lord Grey's Regiment of Foote' in Bradgate Park (20)
Formed by Thomas Grey of Bradgate and sustained by his son, also Thomas, the regiment became part of Cromwell's New Model Army. This re-enactment society attracts members from across the East Midlands.

Weapons of Sound (25)
As part of the ongoing Charnwood Connecting Communities project Plymouth based Weapons of Sound brought their distinctive scrap jazz funk to Charnwood Schools linking Picnic in the Park and Streets Alive. Working with St Paul's School and Rawlins 'Stepping Out' group in Quorn and Year 10's at Burleigh Community College in Loughborough WoS left a big impression of young people acting creatively together to realise their dreams.

Streets Alive 2003 (47)
Jointly co-ordinated by Charnwood Arts and Charnwood Borough Council the 7th Streets Alive arts event hosted a variety of top street performers including the acrobats Black Eagles from Tanzania and singers Black Umfolosi from Zimbabwe. The verdict of the people who came and talked to us - they just want more of it!
Vaisakhi Celebration 2003 - Loughborough Town Hall (21)
Hosting a variety of performers representing different cultures this year's Sikh New Year Festival was absolutely brilliant! As always the welcome is warm and the dancing energetic!
"The Call of Paradise - Bhangra, Babylon and the Blues" (17)
As part of the Charnwood Arts/Charnwood Borough Council 'People making Music project this concert featured the work of the Grand Union Orchestra with a host of local musicians including the newly formed Charnwood Arts singers. The Call of Paradise is a musical journey which seeks to develop a sense of the common humanity between Muslims, Jews and Christians through the contributions of musicians and musical ideas from East and West.

Bill's Film Launch (38)
The launch of the Bill Brookman Foundation's film recording a team of people visiting the earthquake stricken areas of central and western Gujarat was also an occasion for a local community celebration. Many of the costumes were brought to England through the community link exchange by Ahmedabad based children's organisation, Sarjan.

Natural Burial Ground (9)
A few pictures from the still relatively new burial ground near Prestwold/Cotes. A friend was recently buried here and a week or so later I went back to her grave on my own and then took these photographs of the place. I wonder how many people know of this option for burial and of how special it is to look over back over to Loughborough from here.

The 'Rosebery Area' has always been special to me - the first area I moved to it was also where we had our first children, one of my daughters was born at 9 Fearon Street. Although I haven't lived there for nearly twenty years I still have a really soft spot for this area of Loughborough and spend a lot of time there.
Kala Sangam - Village Voices Tour (21)
Organised through Charnwood Borough Council's 'Detour Rural Touring Scheme' Kala Sangham's powerful performance brought together stories from India and western folk traditions including the local story of Black Annis. A stunning evening of highly accomplished music, dance and the telling of tales!
Grand Union Canal - Loughborough (10)
A collection of pictures along the canal through Loughborough in the mid-1980's. So much has changed since these photos were taken especially the re-development of the historic Towles factory.

Seen But Not Heard (15)
'Seen But Not Heard' was a youth project which took place in Mountsorrel in the Spring and Summer of 2001. As part of the project young people in the village produced a gallery of black and white photographs as an exhibition and as an element of a community magazine.

ClickIt! at the Fair 2001 (130)
ClickIt! at the Fair is our first ClickIt! competition. Supported by Charnwood Borough Council we received nearly three hundred entries. Our selection including winners and those commended for their work gives a wonderful impression of the excitement and variety of Loughborough's annual street fair. Deciding a winner from the last 28 pictures was extremely difficult - if only there had been 28 prizes!

Town Hall Navratri Celebrations - 2001 (9)
Navratri is a festival which acknowledges and honours the power of women. 'Nav' means nine and 'Ratri' means nights. On these nights people congregate from all around to dance celebrating a famous victory over evil.
Queen's Park Museums (25)
The environs of Loughborough's Queen's Park houses two museums - the Charnwood Museum and a military museum within the Carillon Bell Tower. These photographs by a group of children (Beth, Andrew and Harry) on a Charnwood Arts workshop to make a web magazine show some of the richness and diversity of one small part of the town.

The ESNA Players (22)
Originally known as the Emmanuel, Shelthorpe and Nanpantan Amateurs, the ESNA Players began life in the early 1960's as a youth group performing plays at the Emmanuel Church Hall in Loughborough. In 1965 we performed our first musical, A Country Girl, and in 1977 moved to the Stanford Hall Theatre. In 1986 our first production of Oliver! heralded a move to the Charnwood Theatre in Loughborough's Town Hall, where we currently perform two musicals a year.
